Applications are invited from unmarried eligible men & women candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC)in under-mentioned branches/ entries in the Indian Navy for course commencing Jan 21 at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates must fulfill conditions of nationality as laid down by the Government of India. Application Fee: Candidates (SC/ST/women candidates are exempted from payment of fees) are required to pay a fee of Rs 215/- (Rupees Two Hundred fifteen only) through online mode.

Who Can Apply:
Candidates who have graduated or in the final year of the applicable qualifying degree in the above-mentioned disciplines from an AICTE recognized educational institute/AllJ certified foreign university can apply for the exam. The candidates will, however, be required to fulfill the educational qualifications stipulated above before joining INA. The candidates failing to meet stipulated educational criteria will not be permitted to join INA, Ezhimala. Note (3): - (i) Only one application can be filled by a candidate. (ii) Candidates will be shortlisted based on their INET(O) marks only. (iii) Candidates desirous of joining SSC Pilot, Pilot (Other than MR) and Observer are to select these branches as options I and 2 only, to be eligible for SSB call-up/CPSS/Aviation Medicals (iv) Upto Approximately 750 candidates, who have chosen SSC Pilot or Observer entries, will be considered for SSB/CPSS/Aviation Medical Examinations, based on marks scored in INET(O) , Remaining candidates will be considered for other entries chosen by them. (v) Candidates must indicate their preference for other branches/cadres also if they wish to be considered for those branches/cadres. Candidates Will not be considered for branches/cadres that they have not selected. Candidates are advised to ascertain their eligibility for branches/cadres, with respect to applicable medical standards, prior to indicating their preference. (vi) The candidate will be allocated branches/cadres based on their merit and preference, subject to fulfilling other criteria such as education, medical standards, etc. Wii) No equivalent stream of BE/ B.Tech lother qualifications other than those mentioned in para 2 above will be considered valid for the selection process at any stage.

Selection Procedure

(a) INET(Officer). (i) Examination Centre. All candidates, whose applications are received by the due date, will be called for INET(O) to be conducted tentatively on Feb 20 at the designated INET(O) centers. Call up letters cum Admit Card for online examination indicating the date, time and place, which is scheduled during Feb 2020, would be required to be downloaded from the official website tentatively by last week of Jan 20. Only an Electronic mode of communication will be used while contacting the candidates at all stages Of selection. (ii) INET(O) Syllabus. INET(O) will be of two hours duration. It will contain 100 Multiple Choice Questions comprising Questions on English, Reasoning & Numerical Ability, General Science, Mathematical Aptitude & General Knowledge. Each section will be of 100 marks with a negative marking of one mark for incorrect answers.

(b) Shortlisting for SSP. IHQ MOD (N) reserves the right to shortlist up to approximately 8000 candidates for SSB, strictly on the basis of INET(O) rank and choice of preference of entries mentioned by the candidate in the application. Candidates are required to qualify in all sections of INET(O) to be considered for shortlisting to appear in SSB interview. No communication will be entertained in this regard. SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be tentatively scheduled from Apr 20 at Bangalore / Bhopal / Visakhapatnam / Kolkata. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSS interview through e-mail or SMS (provided by candidates in their application form). Candidates are advised not to change their e-mail/mobile number till selection process is over.

(e) SSB recommended candidates are required to undergo a medical examination as applicable to their entry. Candidates of Pilot entry are required to undergo Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) followed by Aviation medical examination. Candidates for Observer entry are to undergo Aviation medical examination.

(d) Merit List and Appointment Letter (i) Merit list of all candidates will be based on combined marks of INET(O) & SSB, and the entry for which the candidate has undergone SSB interview and medical examination. No change of entry will be permitted/ entertained after allocation of entry for SSB interview (ii) Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be appointed for training as per all India merit of each branch I cadre based on the availability of a number of vacancies in various branches/cadres.
How to Apply

1. Candidates are to register and fill application on the Indian Navy website To save during the application submission window, candidates can fill in their details and upload documents in advance.

2. Online (e-application). Whilst filling up the e-application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available to enable the following:- (a) Correct filling up of personal particulars. Details are to be filled up as given in the Matriculation Certificate. (b) Fields such as e-mail addresses, mobile numbers are mandatory fields and need to be filled. (c) All relevant documents (preferably in original), marks sheets up to 5th & 7th semester for regular and integrated B.E. / B. Tech courses & other degree examination respectively, date of birth proof (as per 10th & 12th certificate), CGPA conversion formula for BE/B. Tech, Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) issued by DGCA, Government of India, and a recent passport size colour photograph should be scanned in original JPG/TIFF format, for attaching the same while filling up the application. (d) If any scanned document is not legible/readable for any reason the application will be rejected. Candidates are to take print out of application and carry it while appearing for INET(O) or SSB interview.
